Security Planning Division
The Security Planning Division performs the tasks of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration in the field of security planning and crisis management in the event of natural and other disasters and during crises, states of emergency and war and oversees the cooperation with other security agencies within the framework of the national security system of the Republic of Slovenia and the EU. It carries out tasks relating to the physical protection of nuclear facilities and materials, as well as transport, in accordance with regulations on nuclear and radiation safety and private security.
The Sector partakes in the planning and implementation of crisis management exercises at national, EU and NATO levels, as well as regional and national exercises in the fields of protection and rescue, civil-military cooperation, in the preparation and implementation of various systemic solutions, the drafting of sector-specific legislation, etc. It also issues certificates and opinions on the performance of duties in the defence of the Republic of Slovenia in 1991, in relation to the legislation on war veterans, in accordance with the powers of the Ministry in this area.
