The Division shapes policies and performs expert tasks in the areas of the social economy, social entrepreneurship and cooperatives, and social impact measurement and monitoring. It cooperates with relevant ministries and civil society in drafting legislative proposals and strategies and in preparing measures.

It keeps a record of social enterprises and monitors their performance. As part of its activities for the promotion and development of the social economy, social entrepreneurship and cooperatives, the Division conducts public procurement procedures.

    Social entrepreneurship is a form of entrepreneurship that responds to problems in society and creates social benefit through its products and services. Social enterprises thus contribute to innovative solutions to social, economic, environmental and other societal problems, providing jobs and social inclusion for vulnerable groups.
