Dr Anže Logar (born on 15 May 1976) graduated from the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana in 2000. He obtained his master's degree from the Faculty of Postgraduate State and European Studies in January 2006, and his doctoral degree from the School of Advanced Social Studies in July 2016. In 2000, he joined SKB Bank, subsequently leaving his position as a product manager in the marketing department in January 2003 to continue his career at the European Parliament.

Between 2007 and 2008 and again between 2012 and 2013, he was appointed Director of the Government Communication Office by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. During Slovenia's first Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2008, he served as the official spokesperson. During Slovenia's second Presidency in the second half of 2021, he represented the Slovenian Presidency before the European Parliament in his capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Between 2014 and 2018, he served as a Deputy to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. During this period, he chaired the Commission of Inquiry tasked with identifying those responsible for abuses in the Slovenian banking system.

From March 2020 to June 2022, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.

From 2022 to 2026, he served as Deputy to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.

On 16 February 2007, on the occasion of Lithuania's Independence Day, the then Lithuanian President, Valdas Adamkus, conferred upon him the state award Life Saving Cross in recognition of his role in rescuing a Lithuanian citizen, Mantvydas Juozapavičius, from drowning in a Hungarian lake.

In October 2022, Italian President Sergio Mattarella awarded Anže Logar the Italian Republic's highest honour, the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Slovenia.
