A native of Zadraga in the Municipality of Naklo, he is a husband and father of three children. He is a civil engineer with over 40 years of professional experience as a designer and supervisor of infrastructure, engineering, and commercial facilities. For six years, he served as the director of his own design firm, which employed three to four designers. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive knowledge, experience, and skills in project management, planning, and the construction of everything from small-scale to the most demanding infrastructure projects. His work has provided him with deep insight into the operations of numerous municipalities in the Gorenjska region, across Slovenia, and abroad. Over all these years, he has come to know the inner workings of local self-government and municipalities inside out.
For 23 years, he served as the president of the "Pod Krivo jelko" Duplje Cultural and Tourism Association, which organizes cultural and tourism events in Duplje and throughout the municipality. In addition to cultural events, the association preserves natural and cultural heritage and manages and maintains the ethnographic museum in the Vogvar House. Alongside his work in culture and tourism, he was also active in the local volunteer fire department for many years.
He became actively involved in the work of the Municipality of Naklo during its establishment and has been elected to every municipal council to date. He served as a non-professional deputy mayor for three terms. During his years as deputy mayor, he successfully led numerous projects that put the Municipality of Naklo on equal footing with larger and historically better-equipped municipalities.
In 2018, he was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Naklo. Having decided to pursue the mayoral position professionally, he stepped down from his design work at his firm. He handed over the management of the company to younger colleagues, who continue to run it successfully. In 2022, he completed his first term as mayor and began his second. As mayor, he has proven to be calm and deeply attentive to people's needs. Drawing on his experience, he tackled a wide variety of projects across the municipality, which he and his team successfully completed within the projected timeframes. Key achievements include infrastructure upgrades throughout all parts of the municipality (Naklo, Strahinj, Podbrezje, Okroglo, Žeje, etc.), renovations of school and cultural facilities, and a new football pitch. He also paid great attention to protection and rescue operations; during his past term, funding for firefighting equipment and civil protection was significantly increased. Cultural associations and successful individuals also received appropriate support.
He entered his second mayoral term, as well as his five-year term as a National Councillor (member of the National Council), with great enthusiasm and dedication.
