European Funds Service

The European Funds Service acts as an intermediate body in implementing European Union Cohesion Policy during the 2021–2027 programming period and as the responsible authority for implementing the Recovery and Resilience Plan. It also performs tasks related to co-financing from other European Union funds.

This involves coordinating the planning and implementation of activities by beneficiaries of European Union Cohesion Policy funding and by authorities implementing measures under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. For example, we review and approve applications for funding, carry out management verifications of completed procedures and of payment applications and claims, prepare and submit the Implementation Plan for Slovenia’s European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 and annual forecasts for the absorption of funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and prepare and submit various data and reports to the managing authority, the Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development, and the coordinating body, the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Recovery and Resilience.

In cooperation with other competent organisational units of the Ministry of Justice, we represent the policy directions and positions of the Service and the Ministry in national expert and programme bodies and in dealings with the European Commission.
