European Affairs and International Cooperation Service

The European Affairs and International Cooperation Service performs coordination and expert tasks related to European affairs and international cooperation arising from bilateral agreements and Slovenia's membership in the European Union, the Council of Europe, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, United Nations agencies and other international organisations, as well as from participation in regional unions. It participates in the drafting of bilateral agreements concerning health care and medicine and EU legislation and other acts concerning the harmonisation of social security systems in the part related to health insurance, and in the drafting of proposals and monitoring activities related to international development cooperation. In carrying out its activities, it complies with Slovenia's foreign policy and establishes contacts with domestic and foreign institutions in the area of health care and medicine and domestic and foreign governmental bodies.
