Mateja Ribič

Mateja Ribič (born on 6 September 1977) graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor in 2001 and obtained a degree in law.
Following the completion of her studies, she gained 25 years of professional experience in various public sector fields, including more than 15 years in management positions. She worked in state administration, healthcare, the judiciary, social assistance and the pharmacy sector. Through her work in these fields, she gained a broader insight into the functioning of public systems and valuable experience in management, teamwork, fostering positive interpersonal relationships, and motivating employees to achieve their organisation's common goals.
From 2013 to 2020, she served as the director of a care home with more than 120 employees. From March 2020 to June 2022, she served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, where her primary duties were related to the labour market, employment relationships and equal opportunities. She also actively participated in the adoption of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 epidemic in social care institutions and in the development of policies relating to the care of older people.
