State Secretary for regional development

Srečko Đurov, born on 11 October 1978 in Murska Sobota, holds a bachelor’s degree in law. Having served as Director of City Administration of the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota and the Urban Municipality of Maribor, as well as Head of the Maribor Administrative Unit, he is an expert in the field of local self-government, regional development and administrative procedures. 

After completing his studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor, he acquired additional knowledge and skills in corporate communications and public relations.

He began his professional career as the Director of the PIP Institute. He served as Director of the City Administration of the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota and the Urban Municipality of Maribor, as well as Head of the Maribor Administrative Unit. He also worked as a city manager at the Urban Municipality of Maribor and continued his professional career as an assistant in the Social Democrats parliamentary group.

He believes that with adequate regional development policies, we can promote sustainable development in the broadest sense, realise development potential and remove obstacles to the development of all Slovenian regions. He will strive for a balanced regional development of Slovenia as a whole to ensure quality of life for all.
