Slovenia Weekly: Safe and sound

During its last regional visit in this mandate, the Government inspected several investments in Ljubljana. Among other things, they opened a residential neighbourhood with 87 apartments on Zvezna Street in the Zelena Jama area, signed a contract to finance the construction of a new Faculty of Mechanical Engineering building, and signed a letter of intent for the construction of a new student hall of residence. According to Prime Minister Robert Golob, the opening of the Zvezna Street residential complex, managed by the Ljubljana Municipal Housing Fund, serves as proof that the progress is being made on housing policy. The housing problem has long been neglected, but housing policy has recently gained a significant boost not only in Slovenia, but throughout Europe.

The Government is working to ensure that all citizens trapped in the Middle East can return home safely by the end of the week. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, together with diplomatic and consular missions, is intensively and continuously implementing all necessary activities to assist Slovenian citizens in returning home as soon as possible and, above all, safely. So far, a total of 732 Slovenian citizens have been transported back to Slovenia from the crises area on five flights.
