Government Visits Central Slovenia

As part of its regional visit, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia visited the municipalities of the Central Slovenia region (with the exception of the City Municipality of Ljubljana) and presented key development projects and investments in the region. Prime Minister Robert Golob began the Government’s visit to the Osrednjeslovenska region at the Grosuplje Care Home. Together with the Minister of a Solidarity-Based Future, Simon Maljevac, he met with the residents and the management of the home, which is marking its 42nd anniversary today.

Four years into the war in Ukraine: Slovenia remains committed to achieving a just and lasting peace

Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine began four years ago and constitutes a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter. “Slovenia condemns this aggression in the strongest and most unequivocal terms and stands by the people of Ukraine. We are committed to achieving a just and lasting peace, advocate respect for international law and demand accountability for the crimes committed,” emphasised Minister Fajon.

Slovenia-led campaign for safe abortion scores limited victory

My Voice, My Choice, a Slovenian-led EU-wide campaign for safe and accessible abortion, scored a limited victory after the European Commission on 26 February refused to set up a special financial mechanism to expand abortion access in Europe but told member states they could use an existing fund to help women pay for abortion services.

Štajerska among top three European travel destinations for 2026

Štajerska, the wine region in northeastern Slovenia, has been voted Europe's third most desirable destination to travel to this year, trailing only Madrid and Nicosia, according to a ranking compiled by the European Best Destinations portal.
