Slovenia Weekly: Foundations for long-term resilience and competitiveness

The two key achievements of the Government led by Robert Golob during the 2022–2026 term are the stabilisation of the country and the implementation of long-term structural change. These changes provide the foundation for moving forward with confidence and ambition, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Matej Arčon emphasised at the presentation of the Government’s results. The Government stabilised the country following a period of crisis marked by recovery from the pandemic, the energy crisis and rising living costs, and delivered extensive structural changes in healthcare, social security, housing, education, the green transition and regional development. This laid the foundations for the country’s long-term resilience and competitiveness.

This week, the Government paid a working visit to the Posavje region. Its representatives visited several companies, public institutions and organisations and were briefed on developments in the region. At its session, the Government also adopted a decision to initiate the preparation of the National Spatial Plan for the siting of the second unit of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant (JEK 2).
