At its 183rd regular session, which was also held off-site, the Government adopted a proposal for the Employee Participation in Profit Sharing Act. The new regulation simplifies procedures, introduces more favourable tax treatment, and is expected to enable broader employee participation in company profits. During its visit to Zasavje Region, the Government deliberately presented the approved proposal for a new act on worker profit participation at an off-site session because, according to Prime Minister Golob, Zasavje is one of the pioneers in employee participation in ownership and enterprise results as well as value addition. Zasavje is embarking on the path of introducing advanced technologies, which, as Prime Minister added, "is in fact the only right way for other regions that are lagging behind in development". According to him, the regions that are lagging behind in development should use as many good practices as possible that have already emerged in Zasavje instead of conventional approaches in their development.
Nova Gorica–Gorizia's role as European capital of culture came to an end on 5 December after a year of various cultural events. Its heritage has left an indelible mark on the Goriška Region. For the purpose of implementing their role, the two cities have attracted numerous investments and new performance facilities. They organised over 1600 various events, of which 870 under the official programme. These included both exceptional cultural events and smaller accompanying events involving the participation of 19,000 different program designers. The cultural events attracted more than 1.5 million visitors. Gorizia/Nova Gorica united as the first transnational European Capital of Culture, a project initiated in the mid-1980's with a view to building the transnational dimension of urban centres and their cultural programmes.
