Slovenia Weekly: The Power of Knowledge

On 10 November, Slovenia celebrated its first Science Day. This new national holiday is dedicated to promoting science as a driving force of societal development. According to Prime Minister Robert Golob, declaring Science Day as a national holiday for the first time in Slovenia's history as an independent state not only acknowledges our country's scientific and research achievements, but also sends a vital message that knowledge forms the foundation of our society, our statehood, and our identity, and safeguards our future.

Slovenia is one of the first countries in the world to establish a national generative AI platform. The Prime Minister informed the public about the tender for the national generative AI platform, stating: "So far, no other country has signed such a contract." The platform aims to provide every citizen with free access to all AI tools. The project is entirely focused on the future and on creating new knowledge.
