Slovenia Weekly: Coordinated positions

A joint diplomatic appeal by Spain and Slovenia to Israel to end the violence in Gaza is the main focus of Prime Minister Golob’s visit to Spain. Slovenia and Spain have coordinated political positions regarding Israel and Palestine. During Prime Minister Golob's visit to Madrid, he and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez issued a statement calling for an immediate end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Slovenia and Spain also have a coordinated view on investment in defence.

As part of his working visit to the Spanish capital, Prime Minister Robert Golob visited the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization and met with its Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, becoming the first Slovenian Prime Minister to do so. Slovenia is currently a candidate for membership in the organisation's Executive Council, its main operational body.
