Joint Statement by Slovenia and the Kingdom of Spain on the anniversary of Palestine's recognition

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister Robert Golob visited Madrid today. On the occasion of the anniversary of Palestine’s recognition, Prime Minister Golob and Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez issued a joint statement, in which they called, among other things, for an immediate end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, the respect for international law, and urged Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government to stop the massacre in Gaza.

At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed new amendments to the Kindergartens Act and to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, and approved the draft Resolution on the overall long-term programme for the development and equipping of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040. It also initiated a discussion on the proposed new amendments to the Labour Market Regulation Act, which will continue after the amendments have been discussed by the Economic and Social Council.

Slovenia to become full member of CERN in June

Slovenia deposited documents related to its full membership in the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) at UNESCO Headquarters on 22 May. Thirty days after this date, it will become a full member of one of the most prestigious international scientific research organisations.

Government Communication Office receives Prizma 2024 Award for its campaign Stop Disinformation – reREAD, reTHINK, RECHECK

The Communication Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia received a professional accolade in the field of public relations, the Prizma 2024 Award. The Office was awarded for its comprehensively designed and implemented national campaign aimed at raising public awareness of the dangers of disinformation and promoting critical thinking.
