Slovenia Weekly: High quality of life in Slovenia

According to the Government Office for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development, people in Slovenia enjoy a good quality of life. The overall quality of life is high, with living conditions, educational attainment and healthy life years all improving. Slovenia is also among the best-performing EU Member States in terms of economic indicators, although lagging significantly behind in labour productivity. It is essential to promote learning, creative thinking and curiosity.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Golob and Algerian President Tebboune signed a joint declaration between the Governments of Slovenia and Algeria. The joint declaration primarily focuses on strengthening bilateral relations. It also sets out the two countries' shared positions on key international foreign policy issues, including the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East, particularly Gaza.

    At today's session, the Government adopted a series of proposals relating to judicial legislation. It approved the new amendments to the General Administrative Procedure Act, a proposal for the Act Regulating the Financing and Promotion of the Construction of Public Rental Housing, and proposals for new amendments to the Long-Term Care Act and the Housing Act. It also initiated the procedure for drafting the 2026 and 2027 budgets.

    Slovenian pavilion at Osaka Expo exceeds expectations

    The Slovenian Pavilion at the Expo 2025 in Osaka exceeded expectations in terms of both the number of visitors and the international contacts established in the first month, the public agency Spirit Slovenia has announced. The pavilion is visited by some 11,000 people every day, and it has so far hosted 14 official bilateral visits.
