Slovenia Weekly: Summer, sun, Slovenia

The current heat waves threatening hundreds of millions of people in the northern hemisphere follow worrying trends. Meteorological measurements have revealed that the world has recently experienced the hottest day, week and month since records began. Monday was the hottest day of this summer in Slovenia. It was followed by many heavy storms that resulted in great material damage.

Prime Minister Golob announced the consideration of systemic changes to expedite assistance in the event of natural disasters, such as the severe storms that have hit the country in recent days. The Prime Minister also underlined that it was necessary to make a distinction between the measures that people can take to help themselves with responsible behaviour and insurance, and the consequences that cannot be anticipated and in which the role of the state is that much more important.

We wish pleasant holiday days to all the readers of Slovenia Weekly and we will be in touch again in August.
