Slovenia Weekly: A Good Outlook

From Monday to 26 May, Slovenia is hosting the diplomatic conference for the adoption of the Convention on Cooperation in the Prosecution of the Crime of Genocide and other Crimes. The conference is expected to adopt the convention to fill the legal gaps in the investigation and prosecution of the most serious international crimes, which will also be the first international treaty to be named after Ljubljana.

On Saturday, Slovenia and the rest of the world will celebrate World Bee Day for the sixth time. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed it on 20 December 2017. Slovenia has made the annual celebration of World Bee Day an important priority both at home and abroad, where it seeks to promote the importance of bees and other wild pollinators, thereby raising awareness and strengthening action for their conservation.

There is encouraging news from the economy. The spring economic forecasts of several financial institutions predict an increase in economic growth for Slovenia this year. This is a reassuring signal, with favourable growth improving the economic outlook for the whole of 2023.
