Prime Minister Robert Golob arrived today for a one-day working visit to Ukraine, where he will meet with Ukrainian government officials and continue Slovenia’s support for the country in its efforts to fight Russian aggression. "We want to show our political support in the light of Slovenia’s all-around assistance to Ukraine in the difficult times of Russian military aggression," said Robert Golob on his arrival in Kyiv. "We also want to reaffirm our commitment to the policy of territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. We will provide further humanitarian assistance and contribute to post-war reconstruction."
The purpose of the visit is to show political support in the light of Slovenia’s assistance to Ukraine, both to date and in the future. The visit will also be an opportunity to announce further humanitarian assistance and cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine, strengthen regular political dialogue and deepen bilateral relations between the two countries. This is Golob’s first visit to Ukraine since Russia launched its invasion last February.
"Today we had a relaxed and positive meeting between representatives of two friendly countries," said Prime Minister Robert Golob after he met with his Croatian counterpart Plenković on Tuesday. He added that the working visit was only a preparation for a future meeting in Zagreb. He is confident that the friendly relations between the two countries would not only be confirmed there but also built upon with specific steps.
This year’s Planica is also relaxed and positive, as it holds a special place in the hearts of the jumpers, which is why they love coming here again and again. The spectacle will also be dedicated to the memory of the recently deceased Janez Gorišek, who, together with his brother Lado, was a constructor of this Slovenian pride, which attracts more than 10,000 enthusiastic fans to the valley under the Ponce Mountains every year.
