Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Travel Advice: COVID-19

As the probability of infection with COVID-19 remains present, Slovenian citizens wishing to travel abroad are advised to follow the news on the spread of the virus, especially on the planned route, to check the conditions of entry into the country of destination, and to comply with local rules. Slovenian citizens returning from abroad are advised to follow the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

Peter Japelj has been employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1996. On 19 July 2019, the President of the Republic of Slovenia signed a decree on the appointment of Peter Japelj as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Albania. Before his mission in Albania, he held the position of the Head of Section for European Affairs within the Department for European Affairs. He has previously served as policy adviser in the State Secretary’s Office and RELEX Counsellor at the Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels.
