Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Travel Advice: COVID-19

As the probability of infection with COVID-19 remains present, Slovenian citizens wishing to travel abroad are advised to follow the news on the spread of the virus, especially on the planned route, to check the conditions of entry into the country of destination, and to comply with local rules. Slovenian citizens returning from abroad are advised to follow the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

Slovenia and Bulgaria have good and friendly relations, without open issues. They are linked by EU and NATO membership, the heritage of Slavic cultures and common interests in the wider region, with an emphasis on supporting the European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans.

Ambassador Anžej Frangeš presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, on 3 September 2018. The ceremonial opening of the Embassy took place on 25 October 2018 in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of both countries Dr. Miro Cerar in Bulgaria. Since June 2016, the Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia has been operating in Sofia, headed by Honorary Consul Nikolai Vassilev.
