Tina Vodnik was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Argentina in August 2025.

 Prior to her appointment she has served as Head of the Department for Africa and the Middle East at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following a period in the same role by delegation (2023–2025). From 2020 to 2023, she was Deputy Head of Mission at the Slovenian Embassy in Japan and acted as Chargé d’Affaires for several months.

 Earlier postings include Deputy Permanent Representative to the OECD (2015–2020) and various senior roles within the Ministry, including Deputy Director General for Bilateral and European Affairs and Head of the Department for General and Institutional Issues.

 Her EU experience includes serving as Antici and Deputy Antici at Slovenia’s Permanent Representation to the EU and as Coordinator for Coreper II and for asylum and immigration issues at the Government Office for European Affairs.

 She holds a Master’s in European Political and Administrative Studies and a degree in Theological Studies.

 She speaks English, French, Spanish, German, and basic Russian. She is married and has two sons.
