The Republic of Slovenia implements its strategic interests through the achievement of its national security objectives. These objectives are the efficient functioning of the rule of law and the social state, a high level of security, efficient environmental protection, the preservation of natural and strategic resources, the strengthening of good relations with other countries, a strong and stable international political and security position, peacekeeping, and the strengthening of the security and stability of the international community. Their implementation contributes to the welfare and progress of the Republic of Slovenia and its citizens. The protection and defence of national interests and objectives are thus at the core of ensuring national security. With this in mind, we strive for national security, improved defence capabilities of the State and its resilience against security threats, and the development of an efficient emergency response system for natural disasters.
