The Constitution in a comic strip

On the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Slovenian Constitution, the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court have prepared a joint project called The Constitution in a Comic Strip. The strip, which was drawn by Zoran Smiljanić, uses the language of comic strips to make complicated legal ideas sound interesting, educational and fun – even for kids, but not just for them.

The Constitution in a Comic Strip will be presented to the general public in an exhibition at Ljubljana Castle, which was opened on 19 September 2019 by the President of the National Assembly Dejan Židan. Mr Židan noted that the Constitution in a Comic Strip is an innovative and interesting tool for teaching about democracy and active citizenship.

In addition to a selection of the original illustrations, the exhibition at Ljubljana Castle also features print editions of the illustrated Constitution in Slovene, Hungarian, Italian and English, as well as a Braille edition. The exhibition was organised in cooperation with Ljubljana Castle and Strip.art.nico Buch, and will be open to the public until 3 December 2019.
