European Commission issues positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request
Today, the European Commission issued a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request for funding under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of NextGenerationEU. Slovenia is expected to receive the payment next month, estimated at EUR 230 million. Following the disbursement, the utilisation of the funds available to Slovenia under the Facility will exceed 80 per cent.

Government approves proposal for the fifth amendment to the Recovery and Resilience Plan
At its session today, the Government approved a proposal for the fifth amendment to the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). It tasked the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Recovery and Resilience with submitting the amendment to the European Commission in Brussels, together with the relevant supporting documentation.

Slovenia submits fifth request for the payment of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility
The Republic of Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Office has submitted its fifth request to the European Commission (EC) for the payment of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), with a total gross value of €266.84 million.

Government takes note of the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan
Today, the Government took note of the Information on the Implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), which will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. The Council of the European Union approves the fourth amendment to the Recovery and Resilience Plan
The Council of the European Union, meeting in the composition of Finance Ministers, today approved the fourth amendment to Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Plan. A total of €2.14 billion from the Recovery and Resilience Facility is now available for its implementation, of which €526 million in loans (previously €613 million) and an unchanged amount of grants worth €1.61 billion.

Important milestones and targets that enabled Slovenia to receive €440 million for recovery and resilience
Among the 27 milestones and targets whose fulfilment enabled Slovenia to receive funds under the fourth payment request within the Recovery and Resilience Facility are the introduction of a crisis short-time working scheme, changes to labour market regulation and the pension reform. For the successful implementation of these measures, Slovenia received €400 million in grants and €40 million in loans.

Slovenia receives €440 million in EU funds for recovery and resilience
Today, the European Commission paid €440 million to Slovenia on the basis of the fourth payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). "Slovenia has met all the milestones and targets linked to the fourth payment request and has therefore received the maximum possible disbursement," said Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič upon the inflow of funds.

Construction of the new Faculty of Medicine in the final phase
The construction of the new Vrazov trg Campus of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana is continuing successfully and approaching the final phase of construction works. While inspecting the progress, Minister Igor Papič and Gregor Majdič, Rector of the University of Ljubljana, discussed the construction conclusion.

European Commission gives preliminary positive assessment of fourth payment request
The European Commission today gave a preliminary positive assessment to the fourth request for payment of funds under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. Slovenia is expected to receive payment of the request, amounting to just under EUR 440 million, before the end of this year.

Seven new public rental housing units in Tolmin
Minister Simon Maljevac attended today's ceremony marking the opening of seven new public rental housing units in Tolmin. These were built with the help of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan in the amount of EUR 614,000, provided by the Ministry of a Solidarity-Based Future. The cost of renovating the building, which also houses a museum depot, is approximately EUR 1.2 million.

Emergency medical assistance with an emergency doctor's vehicle: faster response and greater efficiency
On 1 April 2024, the emergency medical assistance system in Slovenia underwent a significant upgrade. A new mobile unit – an emergency doctor's vehicle (EDV) – was introduced into field work. This change represents a major step towards more flexible, faster and professionally targeted intervention in emergency medical situations.

Four years of the Recovery and Resilience Plan
The Council of the European Union approved the national recovery and resilience plans at the end of July 2021. The ministries responsible for implementing the reforms and investments in the plan have successfully carried out numerous activities to achieve this. Significant progress has been made this year on the most visible reform measures. The investments under the plan are being implemented by stakeholders in all Slovenian regions.

Minister Asta Vrečko officially opens renovated Rural Transport Museum
On 4 July 2025, Minister of Culture Asta Vrečko officially opened the Rural Transport Museum in Senožeče. The renovation of the old toll house and Kotlar House cost EUR 2.9 million.
