Contributions for development cooperation and humanitarian aid in 2026
These contributions comply with the terms and conditions set out by the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The Government allocated a total of 1,335,000 euros to the following international organisations, of which 1,280,000 euros for humanitarian aid and 55,000 euros for development assistance:
- A humanitarian contribution of 180,000 euros to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to address urgent humanitarian needs in Ethiopia.
- A contribution of 1,000,000 euros to the World Food Programme (WFP) for the Grain from Ukraine programme to promote food security in the least developed countries of sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
- A humanitarian contribution of 100,000 euros to the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) for activities in Madagascar.
- A development contribution of 45,000 euros to the OECD DAC, comprising 25,000 euros for the OECD DAC’s Programme of Work and Budget (PWB) and 20,000 euros for technical assistance and capacity building in Montenegro.
- A development contribution of 10,000 euros to the Global Education Network Europe (GENE).
Slovenia’s voluntary contributions demonstrate its commitment to peace, stability, security, human rights, international law, gender equality, the empowerment of women and vulnerable groups, sustainable development and climate adaptation. These are the very same goals and values that our country shares with selected international organisations. By contributing to the development and humanitarian initiatives of international organisations, Slovenia increases its influence and international credibility, as well as its ability to shape policies within the international community.
