EU funding for the Posavje Regional Mobility Centre
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has issued a funding decision for the project with the acronym DRR RCM POSAVJE. The project will promote the development of modern and environmentally friendly travel habits in the region. A total of €226,000 has been allocated to the project, with funding provided by the Cohesion Fund and the state budget.
The project aims to establish and support the Posavje Regional Mobility Centre, which will operate under the auspices of the Posavje Regional Development Agency. The centre will serve as a central hub connecting the six municipalities in the region, transport providers, and users, with the main goal of improving transport accessibility and connectivity.
The centre will have a direct impact on improving citizens’ daily travel experiences through:
- Improving accessibility and connectivity: The centre will actively connect public transport with cycling and walking, making it easier to plan journeys.
- Support for local communities: By providing expert assistance to municipalities in integrated transport planning, safer and more efficient local transport solutions will be developed.
- Promotion of sustainable travel habits: The centre will serve as an information hub for the promotion of European Mobility Week and European Cycling Week.
- Climate change resilience: Promoting smart and intermodal mobility contributes to long-term emissions reduction and environmental protection in the region.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and pursues sustainable regional mobility objectives. Cohesion Fund contribution stands at €192,287.86.
