The aim of the call for proposals is to support businesses and public research organisations in developing projects in critical and emerging strategic technologies. This will help build the sovereignty, security, and competitiveness of the European Union and prepare the technological basis for the green and digital transition.
The funds will boost development in three key sectors directly impacting the quality of life and the environment:
- Clean technologies: Support to projects fostering decarbonisation, greater energy efficiency and security and development of zero-emission mobility. For Slovenians, this means cleaner air, greater energy independence, and access to modern energy solutions.
- Digital technologies and deep tech innovation: Promotion of innovations designed to boost productivity and enhance resilience of the economy.
- Biotechnologies: Development of advanced solutions in biotechnologies.
The call will be implemented under Slovenia's EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 as part of specific objective Support to investments contributing to STEP objectives.
The call will make a total of €60 million from the European Regional Development Fund available. The project will be implemented by the Ministry of the Economy, Sports and Tourism.
