EU funding for the pharmacy extension to building C of the Slovenj Gradec general hospital

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the pharmacy extension to building C of the Slovenj Gradec general hospital, which will improve spaces for hospital pharmacy activities and high-quality, safe patient care. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €3.05 million to the €3.64 million project.

As part of the project, the pharmacy premises in the Slovenj Gradec general hospital will be adapted to enable safe and efficient pharmacy procedures, in accordance with the principles of good pharmacy practice and storage practice. This includes improved management of medicines and medical devices, accurate record-keeping and documentation archiving, and a safe working environment that also enables smooth work. Greater patient safety in the use of medicines will also be ensured, thereby improving hospital care.

The project is in line with the objectives of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. such as improving the quality of healthcare services, increasing patient safety, and supporting the effective and harmonious functioning of healthcare institutions.

The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €3,052,389.95 to the project, which has a total value of €3,638,198.

The beneficiary of the financial contribution for the project is the Ministry of Health, Office of the Republic of Slovenia for the Monitoring, Quality and Investments in Healthcare.
