EU funding for Kostanjevica na Krki monastery renovation

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Restoration of cultural heritage for the interpretation of Natura 2000 – Božidar Jakac Gallery, Kostanjevica na Krki.

As part of the EU-funded project, the Ministry of Culture will renovate a section of the Kostanjevica na Krki monastery complex, which is listed as a cultural heritage site. The investment will provide publicly accessible spaces for interpreting biodiversity conservation. This will raise public awareness of the importance of biodiversity and sustainable development.  

The project Restoration of cultural heritage for the interpretation of Natura 2000 – Božidar Jakac Gallery, Kostanjevica na Krki is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, priority Green transformation for climate neutrality, and pursues the specific objective Enhancing protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution.

The project, worth €2,948,500.43, will receive European Regional Development Fund support of €2,411,688.
