EU funding for mental health

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project New services in the network of mental health services, or, in short, New mental health services.

The National Institute of Public Health will provide comprehensive adult mental health treatment as part of this EU-funded project. It will improve access to services, enable more efficient, faster, and more flexible treatment of causes and symptoms of mental disorders, emotional problems, distress, and relationship problems by offering new services in the network of mental health services at primary care level. The project will make an important contribution to early detection of mental health problems, better access to professional help, comprehensive community-based mental health care, and to psychosocial rehabilitation of persons with mental illness in line with their needs. 

The project New services in the network of mental health services will be implemented as part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Long-term care and health, and social inclusion. It will pursue specific objective Enhancing the equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable services, including services that promote the access to housing and person-centred care including healthcare; modernising social protection systems, including promoting access to social protection, with a particular focus on children and disadvantaged groups; improving accessibility including for persons with disabilities, effectiveness and resilience of healthcare systems and long-term care services.

The €400,000 project will receive €247,694.94 from the European Social Fund Plus.
