Cooperation in the European Project EURODETACHEMENT

In 2024, the Labour Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia joined the international European project EURODETACHEMENT – ED6 for the first time. The project was coordinated by the French National Institute for Labour, Employment and Vocational Training (Institut National du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle – INTEFP) and funded by the European Commission.

This initiative brings together public and non-governmental organisations from various countries with the aim of improving the protection of workers’ rights when working abroad.

As part of the project, the Labour Inspectorate of Slovenia took on a task that directly affects the everyday lives of many people – preparing an information campaign for workers leaving Slovenia to work in Germany, in particular for those from third countries. These workers often face a new environment, language, and working rules, and timely, clear information can significantly ease their start at work and their everyday life abroad.

In cooperation with the German NGO BemA, supported by Arbeit und Leben (“Work and Life”), we jointly prepared a special leaflet on the rights of posted workers in Germany. To ensure accessibility to the widest possible audience, the leaflet has been translated into five languages: English, German, Bosnian, Serbian, and Albanian.

The leaflets will be available at the Labour Inspectorate, all its regional units, various Info Points, the Workers’ Counselling Office, administrative units, and similar institutions.

From the Labour Inspectorate, the project was initially joined by Ana Cepič, later followed by inspector Eda Valentinčič. Both contributed to ensuring that posted workers will be better informed and protected. Participation in this project has also opened doors to new opportunities.

Such projects demonstrate that through international cooperation and the exchange of experiences, a great deal can be achieved – above all, that workers’ rights are protected regardless of where they perform their work.
