EU funding for cultural projects

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the call for proposals Connected with culture.

The call for proposals will come in two strands; strand 1 will encompass projects and strand 2 will include a project office. Projects in cultural and creative sectors will be supported under strand 1. The activities under this strand will focus on building the capacities of Roma organisations through employment, education and training, while helping increase the self-esteem of Roma and promoting their social inclusion in wider social environment. As part of strand 2, the work of a project office will be supported. The office will provide support services, including technical support to selected projects. The call for proposals will ensure an appropriate support environment for the delivery of cultural projects; it will also encourage individuals in Roma cultural organisations to contribute creatively and actively to the design and implementation of cultural events/programmes.  

The call for proposals will be implemented under priority Long-term care and health, and social inclusion of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will pursue specific objective Fostering active inclusion with a view to promoting equal opportunities, non-discrimination and active participation, and improving employability, in particular for disadvantaged groups.

The call will make a total of half a million euro available. It will receive 402,500 euro from the European Social Fund Plus. 

The Ministry of Culture will publish the call in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on Thursday, 14 August 2025.
