EU funding for the development of innovative businesses in the cultural and creative sectors
The call for proposals aims to:
- foster the development of innovative projects, businesses, and solutions in the cultural and creative industries (CCI),
- support the establishment and operation of businesses in the cultural and creative sectors,
- strengthen the collaboration between the cultural and creative sectors and other sectors of the economy and raise awareness of the benefits and value of combining arts, culture and creativity with science, technology and business,
- promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills in the cultural and creative industries through mentorships and training,
- deliver capacity building programmes for the people working in cultural, creative, arts and entertainment businesses.
As part of the call, grants will be provided for the development of new products, services, and processes in businesses and other organisations in the cultural and creative industries. Focus will also be on the promotion of crossovers between the cultural and creative sectors and other sectors to combine knowledge and skills specific to the cultural and creative sectors together with those of other sectors and generate innovative and intelligent solutions.
The call will help unleash the innovation potentials of the cultural and creative sectors and ensure a supportive environment for the development of sustainable business models, while paving the way towards greater competitiveness of the economy. The call will follow the objectives of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and contribute to the achievement of its priority Innovative knowledge-based society. To this end, the following output indicators will be monitored:
- enterprises supported (of which: micro, small, medium, large),
- enterprises supported by grants.
The call will strengthen the role of the cultural and creative industries, making the sector a vital part of social and economic fabric and a driver of innovation and growth that makes the Slovenian economy more resilient and innovative.
It will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia in mid-August 2025.
