The Competent Slovenia project will provide adults in Slovenia with free non-formal education and training, helping them integrate more successfully into society and the modern workplace. The main objective of the project is to strengthen knowledge, skills and competences that respond to the needs of a rapidly changing labour market and support the digital and green transition.

The project will also provide access to training for individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford it due to financial constraints. This will increase the participation of adults in lifelong learning, reduce the skills mismatch between the workforce and employers' needs and improve quality of life, especially for more vulnerable groups.

Target groups are the employed, self-employed, unemployed, job seekers and other adults in Slovenia. Special attention will be paid to vulnerable groups such as individuals over 45, the less educated, migrants and other groups with limited access to education.

The project contributes to realising the objectives of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The project will be implemented under the priority Skills and a responsive labour market and will pursue the specific objective Promoting lifelong learning, in particular flexible upskilling and reskilling opportunities for all.

The project will receive €7,059,999.99 from the European Social Fund Plus.

The beneficiary of the financial contribution is the Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia.
