As part of the EU-funded project, the Ministry of Justice will provide probationers with access to comprehensive support services that contribute to the successful completion of their sentences, improve their quality of life, and reduce the risk of reoffending. The support services will be available in the form of digitised counselling and training modules. Access will be voluntary based on a pre-completed risk and needs assessment model that identifies the criminogenic factors and areas of strength of the individual.

The use of the upgraded information system will provide probationers with more effective and personalised professional treatment, which will contribute to their reintegration into society and reduce the risk of reoffending. The main objective of the project is to digitise services and processes in the judiciary by introducing comprehensive solutions that will enable a complete digital experience in dealing with courts, notaries and other judicial authorities.

The project Upgraded ProbIS information system with access to advisory and educational modules is part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The project will be implemented under the priority Digital connectivity and will pursue the specific objective Reaping the benefits of digitalisation for citizens, companies, research organisations and public authorities.

The project, worth €490,000, will receive €283,119.55 from the European Regional Development Fund.
