€23.5 million in EU funding for fighting energy poverty
As part of this EU-funded project, the Eco Fund will support investments in energy efficiency measures and renewable energy measures set out in the Action Plan to Alleviate Energy Poverty 2024-2027 to help around 1,100 households facing energy poverty. The measures will be carried out as part of efforts to tackle energy poverty, notably through a mix of measures and especially by improving energy efficiency in buildings, which is one of the most efficient long-term measures. The bulk of the funding will go for investments and part of it will be used for counselling and measures promoting energy saving-habits. The funding will also be available for support measures, i.e. so-called coordinators. These will provide information to potential beneficiaries, helping them with drawing up funding applications under the call and guiding them through the investment implementation process.
The project will be implemented under priority Green transformation for climate neutrality of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will pursue specific objective Promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The €32,941,176.47 project will receive €23.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund.
