EU funding for quality and accessible education and integration of circular economy education into educational system
As part of this EU-funded call for proposals, support will be provided for development, upgrade and strengthening of digital, entrepreneurial and sustainable (green) competences with an emphasis on career orientation and integration of circular economy education. This will be done in a way that ensures a school-wide approach in at least 16 educational establishments in the Zasavska region to enrich the educational process and educational environment. As part of this exercise, modern, sustainable and energy efficient educational infrastructure will be ensured to provide support to didactic approaches and teaching strategies while promoting collaboration and carrying out of practical activities in the municipalities of Trbovlje, Zagorje ob Savi, Hrastnik and Litija.
The call for proposals Enriching quality and accessible education and integrating circular economy education in educational institutions in the Zasavska region will be implemented in the scope of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under priority Restructuring of coal regions. It will pursue specific objective Just Transition Fund.
The call will make €3 million available; most of the funding, i.e. €2.55 million, will come from the Just Transition Fund.
The Ministry of Education will publish the call in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 9 May 2025.
