First consultation on post-2027 cohesion policy in Slovenia
According to Minister Jevšek, it is important that the stakeholders involved in the implementation of cohesion policy recognise the importance of positive change for people brought by EU funds and the need to come together, work together and engage in meaningful dialogue at all levels to ensure that each euro received will contribute to development in the future.
‘’I am sure that today’s consultation will help raise awareness of the role we all play in managing these funds. Simplification of administrative procedures, increased funding for place-based approach, support for the digital and green transitions and better cooperation between research institutions and the industry will be key for a successful cohesion policy in the future. Also, we must address the lack of financial and properly trained human resources to be able to ensure efficient and effective implementation of cohesion policy both in Slovenia and Europe,’’ said Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development Dr Aleksander Jevšek at the consultation on post-2027 cohesion policy.
Minister Jevšek announced that similar events focused on cohesion policy beyond 2027 would follow, with the ministry collecting the stakeholders’ proposals and opinions and submitting them to the European Commission to contribute to the design of a better and more flexible legislative framework for post-2027 cohesion policy.
