Prime Minister Golob: “We work with future generations in mind.”

Today, the Prime Minister, Dr Robert Golob, signed a Letter of Intent with the Rector of the University of Primorska, Dr Klavdija Kutnar, for the development and implementation of a single master’s degree programme in medicine at the University of Primorska.

The letter was signed in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr Valentina Prevolnik Rupel, and the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Igor Papič, and the Prime Minister addressed those gathered after the signing. He expressed his satisfaction that the University of Primorska will introduce a new study programme in medicine.

“Health is a priority for the government. We made this clear when we took office and we will pursue this every day, at every opportunity,” the Prime Minister said. “We are working in this moment, but with future generations in mind. I am pleased that a new study programme is being developed at the University of Primorska, which is just over twenty years old,” said Prime Minister Dr Golob in his address, adding that this is also proof of how important and useful the establishment of the University of Primorska has been.

“Slovenia needs more doctors in the public health service. We have worked hard to increase the admission quota. “We have earmarked investment for the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana and provided additional funds for the study of medicine in Maribor,” the Prime Minister said, also stating that all the relevant ministers have committed to this initiative, and some resolutions have already been adopted. “I am confident that we will succeed,” the Prime Minister concluded.
