Among other things, the Parliamentary View of 20 Years in the EU website presents contributions by individuals who have shaped the image of the first two decades of Slovenia's membership of the European Union. The President of the National Assembly, former chairpersons and secretaries of committees who were actively involved in Slovenia's integration into the European Union, and the current chairpersons and members of the parliamentary committees on European Union affairs and foreign policy have shared their reflections on the past and their views on the future of Slovenia's membership of the European Union.

The parliamentary celebrations will culminate in a celebratory meeting of the Committee on European Union Affairs on Tuesday, 7 May 2024. The meeting will be open to the public and will be broadcast live on TV Slovenia 3 and on the National Assembly's website.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Slovenia's EU membership, the National Assembly has also created the thematic exhibition "Slovenia – 20 years in the EU: The parliamentary dimension of Slovenia's accession process and membership of the European Union". The exhibition covers three topics over a broader period, from the period of integration of the young Slovenia into the international community to full membership of the European Union and active participation in shaping European policies. The first part of the exhibition presents the process of accession to the European Union through parliamentary events selected from the National Assembly's rich photographic archives. The exhibition continues with graphics and archival documents to illustrate the adaptation of the organisation and work of the National Assembly in order to effectively adopt European legislation. The final part of the exhibition focuses on Slovenia's successful presidencies of the Council of the European Union in 2008 and 2021.

The exhibition on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Slovenia's accession to the European Union, which will be installed in the lobby of the Great Hall of the National Assembly, will be open to the Slovenian and foreign public as part of the Summer Museum Night 2024 programme, which will take place on Saturday, 15 June 2024, between 6 pm and midnight. You are welcome to attend!
