Ministers Poklukar and Nešić on migration

Minister of the Interior Boštjan Poklukar spoke by telephone with Nenad Nešić, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina

He briefed him on the discussion on the external dimension of migration and the conclusions of yesterday's meeting of the EU Home Affairs Council in Brussels.

Poklukar presented the joint initiative that the interior Ministers of Slovenia and Croatia addressed to the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, urging the European Commission to push for the conclusion of a status agreement between the European Border and Coast Guard (Frontex) and Bosnia and Herzegovina as quickly and effectively as possible. Poklukar reiterated that effective migration management was a shared responsibility of the countries in the region and beyond, with good international cooperation being key to it.

Nešić briefed Poklukar on the current migration situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
