“Cross-border cooperation is at the heart of European territorial cooperation. The catastrophic floods that recently hit Slovenia demonstrate how important cross-border cooperation and good relations with our neighbours are. Allow me to thank, also on behalf of the Slovenian Government, the Croatian Government, and Minister Erlić for all the help and solidarity during the recent natural disaster,” underlined Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development Dr Aleksander Jevšek in his opening address.

Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development acts as the Managing Authority of the Interreg cross-border programme Slovenia-Croatia. The 2014-2020 programme focused on developing a sustainable, safe and vibrant border area.

“41 cross-border projects, which involved over 250 partners from Slovenia and Croatia, were approved and successfully implemented. This all goes to show that cooperation and coordinated action in addressing common challenges leads to better results and sustainable impacts beyond national borders,” also said Minister Jevšek.
