Prime Minister Robert Golob nominates Boštjan Poklukar as the new Minister of the Interior

Prime Minister Robert Golob today sent a proposal for a new Minister of the Interior to the National Assembly, nominating Boštjan Poklukar as the candidate.

Boštjan Poklukar holds a Master's degree in Public Administration. He has been employed at the Ministry of Defence since 1991. As a member of the Slovenian Armed Forces, he performed various duties and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He has been awarded the Bronze Medal of General Maister and the Silver Medal of the Slovenian Armed Forces, and has received the Commemorative Badge Stražnice 1991 as a participant of the War for Slovenia. Since 2015, he has worked at the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief, where he, among other things, led the Kranj Regional Notification Centre. Between 2018 and 2020, he was Minister of the Interior in the Marjan Šarec’s Government. He became Director of the Military Heritage Administration of the Republic of Slovenia on 24 June 2022.
