Today, Secretary of State Marko Štucin held talks at the Vatican with the Undersecretary for Relations with States of the Secretariat of the Holy See, Msgr. Mirosław Stanisław Wachowski.

State Secretary Štucin and Undersecretary Wachowski underlined the friendly relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Holy See. After they exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans and the EU enlargement process, the State Secretary presented some of the institutional frameworks within the EU. They discussed the international community's response to the war in Ukraine, and State Secretary Štucin briefed Msgr Wachowski on the international conference on mutual legal assistance for the most serious crimes, which Slovenia will host in Ljubljana in May 2023. Finally, they touched on current global challenges, such as migration and climate change.
