Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Mr Danijel Bešič Loredan on a working visit to Finland

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Mr Danijel Bešič Loredan was on a working visit to Finland on 29 and 30 August 2022. At a core of his discussions was the Finnish healthcare reform, legislation and system solutions in healthcare, as well as digitalisation of the Finnish healthcare system. On this occasion, Minister Bešič Loredan met with his host, Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Mr Aki Lindén.

Minister discussed healthcare reform and digitalisation with Ms Outi Antila, Director General of the Finnish Social Welfare Institute (Kela), and also with Mr Aleksi Yrttiaho, Director of Technology and Risk Management and Mr Vesa Jormanaine, Chief Specialist at the Finnish Institute of Health and Social Welfare (THL).

Minister Bešič Loredan visited Helsinki Social services and Health Care Division, Kalasatama Health and Wellbeing Center, where he was greeted by the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki for Social Services and Health Care Mr Daniel Sazonov. At Valvira, National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health, Minister Bešič Loredan discussed with the Director General Mr Markus Henriksson and his team waiting times, licensing of doctors, medical staff and social workers, and inspection in social and health care.

Minister Bešič Loredan concluded his visit at the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS), where some innovative solutions for the digitalisation of health services were presented, by which waiting and patient treatment times are significantly reduced.
