Exchange of congratulatory letters between presidents Pahor and Xi to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations

President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory letters on the thirtieth anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries.

President Pahor sincerely congratulated China on the technological achievements and industrial development. He said China is a valuable partner in addressing common challenges of the humanity. President Pahor also highlighted an accelerated development of bilateral relations of the two countries, from successful economic cooperation to establishing links in new areas, such as winter sports. As a member of the European Union, Slovenia advocates active EU-China relations with the aim of contributing to welfare of both sides and the international community.

In his letter, President Xi attached great importance to the development of China-Slovenia relations and highlighted the positive results of mutually beneficial cooperation. He suggested that the two sides take the 30th anniversary as a new starting point, injecting new momentum into the development of bilateral ties to the benefit of both countries and their peoples.

In honor of the fortieth anniversary of sister cities of Ljubljana and Chengdu and the thirtieth anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries the government of the city of Chengdu spectacularly lit up the Tianfu Twin Tower in Chengdu.
