Minister Logar visits Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Anže Logar met in Riyadh today with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Commerce Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih, and Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed Al Jadaan. In their talks, they focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Slovenia and Saudi Arabia.

Ministers Logar and Al Saud confirmed their interest in taking bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries to a new level, which will require the completion of procedures for the conclusion of bilateral agreements and other legal bases for cooperation. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Slovenia's most important economic partner in the Gulf. The two countries also have a mutual interest in cooperation in investments, new technologies and artificial intelligence, transport, and the food industry, as well as climate change and environmental protection. The counterparts then addressed the situation in the region. Minister Logar outlined for his host Slovenia's bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2024–2025 term.

In his talks with Minister of Commerce Al Qasabi, Minister of Investment Al Falih, and Minister of Economy and Planning Al Jadaan, Minister Logar highlighted possibilities for taking economic cooperation forward and creating opportunities in various areas, including investments in Slovenia.
