Slovenian Prime Minister meets with representatives of non-governmental organisations in the field of agriculture and food

Prime Minister Janez Janša and Minister of Agriculture Dr Jože Podgoršek today met with representatives of non-governmental organisations in the field of agriculture and food.

At the meeting they discussed the common agricultural policy strategic plan for 2023–2027 and agreed that, after years of neglect, the current government has recognised the importance of agriculture, self-sufficiency, local production, young farmers and increasing the competitiveness of agriculture.

The meeting with the Prime Minister was attended by President of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia, Roman Žveglič, President of the Slovenian Rural Youth Association, Anja Mager, President of the Farmers Trade Union of Slovenia, Anton Medved, President of the Cooperative Union of Slovenia, Borut Florjančič, and President of the Management Committee of the Chamber of Agricultural and Food Enterprises within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Janez Rebec. The meeting with the Prime Minister ended in a constructive dialogue.
