State Secretary Raščan congratulated Mr Osvald on his recent election to the honourable position and wished him every success in his new role. This election is particularly gratifying considering that a low number of Slovenians occupy high-level positions within the United Nations (UN) system. Slovenian diplomacy pays a great deal of attention to the election and nomination of Slovenian representatives to different positions in international organisations and is working actively to increase their representation.

The officials also discussed potential collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Slovenian postal service Pošta Slovenije, such as the issuance of commemorative stamps that significantly contribute to the promotion of Slovenia abroad. In 2020, Pošta Slovenije released a postage stamp commemorating the 75h anniversary of the United Nations.
