Minister of Foreign Affairs Anže Logar hosted the Gold Ribbon Slovenia team, a group of children and adolescents who have survived cancer or are still battling it, raising awareness about the disease and offering support to their peers. The group’s representatives handed gold ribbons to the Minister as a symbol of childhood cancer awareness. “I will convey your message to the European house of democracy in Strasbourg next week,” said Minister Logar.

Minister Logar welcomed the aim of the Gold Ribbon team to connect children with cancer throughout Europe. September is childhood cancer awareness month, coinciding with Slovenian EU Council Presidency. The fight against cancer has been at the forefront of Slovenia’s EU priorities ever since it joined the Union.

Minister Logar will hand over the gold ribbons to the President of the European Parliament, Slovenian MPs and other high officials at the September plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg as a symbol of Slovenia’s commitment to fight childhood cancer.
